So my last post....2 months ago....stated that I am planning on running a 5K. Originally, I was going to participate in the Lungs for Life 5K. Now, I have decided to try to find a 5K that is specifically geared toward Breast Cancer Research since that is where my friend, Julie's, cancer orginated. So, I have been on a quest to start "training" for my undesignated 5K, and tonight FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, I ran for 25 minutes...STRAIGHT!!! No breaks, no breathers, and no heart attacks!!! I have proven to myself that I CAN do this and I am so excited!!! So, I am going to start with the Matthew 25 (a fundraiser for the free medical and dental clinic in Fort Wayne where I volunteer) 5k and go from there. There is a Susan G. Komen 5K in Cincinnatti in September, so maybe that's what I'll shoot for!!
I am on vacation this week, and going to enjoy every minute of it. Ashton and I went to Lafayette to visit my family! Ashton had a great time with his cousins, and cried when we left. He really wanted Lucy and Charlotte to come with us. He slept the whole way home and once we got home, Ashton realized that his cousins weren't with us. He cried again!! He had a great time! We'll be going back soon!

Chrissy -
Way to go! Running is fun and the sense of accomplishment is great.
Please know you are invited to run in the Thanksgiving Day Galloping Gobbler 4 Mile Run in Fort Wayne.
It starts at St. Francis, runs through the historic Lindenwood Cemetery and finishes back at the University.
Online registration here:

Glad you have realized that running isn't that terrible. You will be running 3 miles in no time! No one ever said you had to be the speediest you just had to run it.
Miss you and Love yoU!
